Merry Christmas 2010

We're having a Christmas which really suits us.

Best Advent book: Jotham's Journey, a cliffhanger about a shepherd boy who meets baby Jesus which Anjali and I have been enjoying all month

Best Christmas breakfast: Banana Chocolate Chip muffins bought by Anjali for us as a surprise with her initiative chore money

Present best opened at Gramma's: shrieking slingshot monkeys from Tim to all the kids

Best handmade ornaments: Ceramic stars, bells (Anjali), and pink dinosaur (Mark) made at pottery class

Most original gift: a pineapple corer from Tim to Amy

Most symbolic gift: dancing couple ornament from Amy to Tim

Best use of bamming: Mark slapping sugar cookie dough flat with his palm before cutting it into stars

Best bead work: necklaces and this great flower ornament by Anjali

Most unexpected stocking stuffer: Legos and car parts Mark had stashed in his own stocking and which he was surprised to see

Latest Christmas Eve: playing at the White House and not going to bed until 11:00 p.m.

Best use of technology: Skyping Gramma and Grampa Kei (Reisdorf) this morning to chat

Best gift of all
: Going around and saying what we most liked about each other

Mark- his humorous heart (Anjali), all the things he can do now that he's growing up (Amy), and how he puts his heart into everything he does (Tim)

Anjali- her good and generous heart (Amy), her kindness (Tim), she shares with me (Mark)

Tim- how hard he works for all of us (Anjali), taking time after hours and hours of snow shoveling to make Tunnel Town for the kids to play in (Amy), he runs fast (Mark)

Amy- how she likes taking care of me (Tim), she laughs at my jokes (Mark), her kind and generous heart (Anjali)

And then, Anjali asked, "What do we most like about our family today?"
Mark: "I like that we make art."
Anjali: "I like that how our family makes decisions and that we have choices."
Amy: "I like how we laugh and laugh together."
Tim: "I like our adventures, especially rock climbing."

Merry, Merry Christmas from all of us to you!
